Winton 150 Year Celebrations update

The events and activities of the Winton 150 Celebrations weekend are in the process of being
finalised.   Winton Shire Council and Event Society, the event organiser, are very busy behind the
scenes attending to the finer details of what promises to be a memorable and enjoyable event. 

You can find some interesting snippets of information on the Winton 150 Year Facebook page – which is a great visual read for lots of interesting photographs, highlights, and memories that showcase people, places and characters from Winton and surrounds. 

You can also access information on the Winton Shire Council Facebook page, and we will keep you posted with the program updates, ticket information etc when the Winton 150 Year website goes live soon. 

 

How to become part of this memorable weekend of celebration.

1. Food and Bar Services (EoI) - Your Community Group or Business may wish to partake in a
fund-raising activity and provide food or bar services at an event over the weekend. 
The EoI forms are available on the Winton Shire Council webpage – Winton 150 Year
Celebration weekend.

Hospitality Wait Staff – are required for service at the 150 Year Gala Ball on Saturday 12 April
2025 at the Shire Hall. A great opportunity to earn some money and be partake in a truly
beautiful Gala evening.  The EoI form is available on the Winton Shire Council webpage –
Winton 150 Year Celebration weekend.

2. Vintage Style Handmade and Craft markets – If you are a designer, craftsperson, maker of
homewares, baker of delicious home-made goods – we would love to see you and your
wares at this fun day on Saturday 12 April, 2025.  The EoI form is available on the Winton
Shire Council webpage – Winton 150 Year Celebration weekend.

3. “Trades and Crafts from the Past” display -  We are looking for artisans and makers who are
creative and involved in a ‘lost’ or ‘rare’ trade.  This is a perfect opportunity to showcase
your craftsmanship and share your knowledge and craft skill.  This display will form part of
the Markets on Saturday 12 April 2025  – so please come and participate if you can
demonstrate the following: knitting, crochet, tatting, woodwork and wood carving, spinning
and weaving, doll making, leather plaiting, spoon carving, quilting, toy car-making, clock
making and pottery – just to name a few. .  The EoI form is available on the Winton Shire

4. The Grand Parade – Gather some creative ideas and make a fancy float that weaves its way
down Elderslie Street on Saturday 12 April 2025.    If you are a Community Group, School,
Business or Rural Property – it’s time to parade.    This is also a chance to re-unite with your
family and march with your generations behind your family branded banner!   For more
