Community Care Services (CCS)

Winton Shire Council are approved providers for home care services including:

  • Commonwealth Home Support Program (CHSP)
  • Home Care Packages (HPC) and the
  • National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS)

The Commonwealth Home Support Program provides entry-level support for older people who need some help to stay at home.   Our program will work with consumers to maintain their independence and keep them as well as possible.  For more information 1800 200 422 or visit the website https://www.myagedcare.gov.au/.

Home Care Packages (HCP) are one of the ways that older Australians can access affordable care services to get some help at home. They are designed for those with more complex care needs that go beyond what the Commonwealth Home Support Programme can provide. 

The National Disability Insurance Scheme is a nationally funded scheme designed to provide access to lifelong support for people living with a disability. The scheme identifies supports to assist people meet their goals and enable them to life their life the way they want to.  If your disability affects your ability to take part in everyday activities and you acquired it before the age of 65, the NDIS is for you. These services are delivered by qualified and competent staff from the Winton Neighbourhood Centre, to support eligible frail older people and younger people with disabilities with tailored in home services in home care to enable consumers to live independently and achieve their goals.    Services types delivered include Domestic Assistance, Personal Care, Social Support, Home Maintenance and Transport.
